PTA Summer Movies!

Hello from Cedar City, Utah!

During the summer here in Cedar City the school PTA's like to have cheap movie days at the theater and show a cartoon or family movie. This year we decided to go! My friend and her little girl asked if we would go with them! There are ten movies(we missed the first couple) and we are about half way through the list.

The first week we went, the movie was Space Chimps. If you haven't seen it, it is cute although we missed about 10 minutes of it due to the fact that part of the movie got a little singed. We are sitting their in the comfortable stadium seats at Fiddler's 6. They are just about to make a big introduction when the film started to burn under the heat of the lights. Not only were the lights on in that little box of a room where the movie is projected from, but some of the lights in the theater were also. After 10-15 minutes of just sitting there wondering what they are going to do, the movie starts back up, but JD has lost interest by now and won't sit still. We finished the show and went home.

The next week, which was last week we went to see Marley & Me. We get seated...nothing...still nothing...the lights go out, the lights come back on. It's a Monday, things are bound to happen, right? Yup, then they announce, "The power is out, we are trying to get it back on." Huh? What could possible have happened to cause the power to go out on a clear blue sky of a day in Cedar City, Utah? A car accident. Apparently, it knocked out the power until 2:30pm that day! Great, now what? They said we could come back the next day. So, we packed up the kids and head for a park. The next day we get to watch the movie. Let me tell you, that movie is not a family movie. It should be rated PG-13, but it isn't. Parents should watch this movie before letting their children watch it.

Today, is Monday. I've decided that Monday's have to come with an event of some kind. This weeks movie, The Tale of Desperaux. I've probably butchered the spelling, but I don't really care! Cute movie, but again they had the lights on in the theater and part of the film burned again. Hello, earth to the movie theater, when showing a movie turn out all the lights!!! Apparently, it isn't the first year that they have burned movies. Last year or the year before they must have burned a movie something awful because they let everyone watch a new movie in the next theater.

Maybe we should start going on Tuesday's or Wednesday's!! I'll let you know what happens next week!
